Despite all prevention, it sometimes happens anyway: decay has attacked a tooth. That is not only annoying but can also cause pain, especially in milk teeth. As a children's dentist we know that now quick but sensitive action is called for.

Why fillings are important

Decay is a bacterial disease. If it is not treated, it continues to spread, deep into the inside of the tooth. In milk teeth this can happen especially quickly. A filling placed in good time stops the spread and protects the tooth.

Milk teeth do fall out at some point, but they have important jobs. They keep the space for the permanent teeth and are important for chewing and speaking. That is why decayed milk teeth should always be treated!

What fillings do we use?

In our practice, Zahnfine Kids, we use modern, tooth-coloured composite fillings. These consist of a resin and ceramic mixture and are:

durable
well tolerated
visually unobtrusive

The material is placed in the tooth layer by layer and hardened with light. This creates a stable, tight seal.

For very small children or badly damaged teeth, other materials or children's crowns may also be sensible in some cases. We discuss all options openly with you and find the best solution for your child together.
